Pittsburgh DJ Bill Bara

Fairmont Dream WeddingWedding Packages
If you're reading this, there's around a 90% chance you're getting married and are truly interested in having me DJ your wedding. The other 10% reading this are my competition trying to find the reason why my popularity has recently exploded in the wedding industry.
100% of you want to know what it is that I do that is so special. The answer isn't a simple one. It's complex... but I owe the majority of my success to my friends. More than just my friends from home and school, but also the friends I've made over the last few years. See, while being a professional DJ since 1998, I didn't DJ my first wedding until 2009!

Everyone knew I was a DJ because I worked in Pittsburgh's most popular nightclub, Matrix. But when the time came for one of my friends to ask me to DJ their wedding, I was a little hesitant. Once they told me what their other options were, I quickly came to their help and we both had the time of our lives. It's amazing the energy you receive from a wedding. I've DJ'd in nightclubs packed with over 2000 people, but would trade that moment for a wedding any day!

I quickly started to promote myself as Pittsburgh's only "night club DJ" available for weddings. Largely because I really was the only night club DJ who was willing to DJ a wedding. I spent the past decade of my life dedicated to learning music of all genres as well as the skills of the most acclaimed nightclub DJs. We were practicing mixing, scratching, and mashing records together to create an art while "wedding DJs" were out there playing the Chicken Dance and giving DJs in general a bad reputation. That's when I realized that all DJs are not equal, and the DJ is the most important part to having a fun and memorable reception!

My plan was simple. Explain to each couple my style of DJ'ing, then to work with the couple to create a unique celebration that is a one of a kind experience for the newlyweds and their guests to remember forever. This is where I added the glue to my success, Denise Mostella.

Modern Era WeddingsDenise and I met while we were in college. She was a fashion major who loved music and I was a communications media major who loved music. Being that Pittsburgh doesn't have many career opportunities in fashion and we didn't want to split, she had a lot of time to dedicate to helping my DJ career flourish. She started out by taking notes in our meetings (girls are always neater than guys) and creating a custom timeline of events for the evening, but quickly took on more responsibility by using her music knowledge to program the playlist for cocktail hour and dinner. Using her background of musical knowledge combined with input from our clients, she is able to put together a playlist each week that in unique and enjoyable to everyone in attendance.

Clients and guests quickly took notice and we were voted 2011 Best of The Knot and were rated in the Top 5% of Wedding Wire! Proud of our achievements, we were ready to help the entire city of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas, but then ran into a small problem. We could only DJ one wedding per weekend. We didn't want to raise our rates to the point where we were making more money but DJ'ing less, because our ultimate goal was to DJ every week! But, we still needed to find a way to help more couples.

So I met with some of the best DJs in the region that I became friends with over the years. There's a limited number of fulltime nightclub DJs in any city and I'm friends with every single one of them in Pittsburgh. We share knowledge and learn new tricks from each other all of the time. After some convincing, I talked a few of my friends into helping me help you. They are now believers that the days of the chicken dance, hokey pokey, and macarena are done. While we understand some traditions are acceptable, you also accept the fact that we are different from the average wedding DJ and have the skills to create a unique experience that is elegant, classy, and fun all at the same time.

So I might have your date available and I might not. But either way let us help you create the wedding of your dreams. How? We recently invested everything we earned over the last couple years to open a wedding store in Pittsburgh that is dedicated to creating the perfect modern wedding. We provide professional DJs, Videography, Lighting, Video Projection, Monograms, etc... if you can imagine it, we can do it! We have a store called Modern Era Weddings located on West Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh and are starting store hours in October!
